[2025-02-14] valentine's day
so today's activities were all planned by roman! he did a truly great job. i had tons of fun and i kept getting suprised!!
first we went to kinfolk in downtown vancouver! we made love letters to each other. i think our idea was a bit ambitious for the 2 hour time limit we had, but i love them anyways :) i am frog and roman is toad
next we went to dinner! roman took us to a place called the hammond. originally, roman ordered the salmon and i ordered the fish and chips, but the salmon had cauliflower so we switched plates! both were really yummy. oh and the meatballs we had for the appetizer were awesome. the bread was so soft and buttery.
i was super full after this stop. and we had leftovers to take home. the view from the window next to our table was pretty cool. especially since it was dark out, all the lights outside were nice. i'm glad that this place is nearby!
but that wasn't all!! for our last stop roman took me to a speakeasy (my first time going to one!) in portland. it's called voysey. we had to walk through a different bar, and then to the basement/underground?? to get to this place. it was very cool. the vibes were vibing. I had a mezcal 'heart of glass' and roman had the 'other fish in the sea' drink.
this place was really cool and i really enjoyed my drink. the salt rim had some spice which was cool. roman's drink was very tropical. i joked that it reminded me of winston from new girl.
